Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung stated that food made from pangasius is all delicious and sure to be interested by housewives but many consumers in the north have known these products.

Afternoon October 7 Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung visited Vietnam Pangasius and Seafood Product Exhibition organized by Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (MARD) at Vietnam Agricultural Exhibition Center (Ha Noi) during 3 days from 6 to 8 October.

Minister of together with him Minister of MARD Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, Inspector-General Phan Van Sau and several local officials of the Mekong Delta went together with him.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung together with several leaders of some ministries and sectors and local officials visited booths and talked to business representatives and people there. Businesses had careful methodical preparation when they joined the exhibition as well as has ready expanded consumption of pangasius products in the north. Capital people also respond positively to pangasius products and other processed seafood. Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung noted, praised and highly appreciated the MARD, producing and processing business in organizing and joining in the Exhibition.”This means an important event and an opportunity to promote the image, brand of the product, improve consumption pangasius and other seafood product in the north market and in domestic market generally toward expanding in regional and international markets” Deputy Prime Minister said.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung the government is focusing on addressing structuring agricultural production in order to combine production and market. Thus, production gets international market as a target to upgrade quality, reduce price of product and especially respect domestic market simultaneously. People must be consumed the best quality product from domestic producing business.

 “Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung stated that food made from pangasius is all delicious and sure to be interested by housewives but many consumers in the north have not known these products yet. If Businesses have solutions to boost consumption, it will be successful” The Prime Minister talked to representatives of several businesses.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung also stated that he will assign the MARD to give solutions for developing aquaculture, processing pangasius and seafood items with the highest quality.

The Deputy Prime Minister required “to keep traditional markets as a must, to develop new markets, together with reorganize domestic markets especially retail markets so as to brig pangasius and seafood products and agricultural product in general to consumers”.
The Government also requires Ministry of Science and Technology to give overall solutions to support business in terms of standards and product specification to ensure Vietnamese products reaching high quality and standards to adapt the demand from consuming markets.
To the business Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung recommended to continue boosting utilization of science and technology in producing and processing, to research carefully to expand consuming markets while to boost promoting and introducing activities for the product.

Vietnam Pangasius and Seafood Product Exhibition is the first Exhibition specializing in seafood organized in Ha Noi to promote the image, product brand, improve product consumption in the north market and domestic market generally towards expanding regional and international market and especially attached China market.
There are 40 leading businesses in seafood sector of Vietnam joining in the Exhibition with the scale of over 70 booths. Many pangasius products and other processing value-added products from pangasius, shrimp, ocean tuna, and other seafood products are introduced to domestic and foreign visitors, and consumers.

Beside, the Exhibition also has booths displaying other seafood products such as fresh water seafood, mollusks, fish sauce, cooking oil from pangasius and dried products and supporting products for aquaculture industry. There are also booths for the provinces and cities to introduce products, potential, strong points in developing their local seafood.

Especially the Exhibition has a pangasius cuisine area in 300 meter square of Exhibition campus. Professional chefs will introduce quality and nutritious pangasius products to human health and perform 20 dishes made from pangasius. Visitors and consumers in the north will enjoy interesting pangasius menus, recipes of pangasius dishes for the first time in the Exhibition.

On the sidelines of the Exhibition Vietnam Directorate of Fisheries and Agro Processing Development Authority coordinated with VASEP to organize 2 conferences on producing pagasius and consuming seafood products.
